The 22 Shelby GT is even leaner, meaner, and lower-slung than the original Classic, thanks to its low-profile aluminum race fairing, integrated molded fiberglass air intake scoop, special color schemes and custom stainless steel hardware including flush-mounted pull-up cleats. Wraparound cockpit upholstery with integrated coaming storage compartments, cupholders, and ergonomic high-back bucket seats add to the performance look of this hot new model.
But this is a Shelby, and that means that – beyond mere looks – this boat will perform like none other. The raised engine hatch serves two purposes: Not only does it allow for increased airflow to the Shelby’s clear-breathing big-block V8, but it allowed Donzi to raise the X-dimension compared to its conventional 22 Classic sibling, making the 22 Shelby GT Donzi’s fastest-ever 22-footer.
